Thanks for making me think. Or, Book'um

A lie will make it around the world before the truth has time to put its shoes on. Thanks to the information highway we call the internet. How can you know for sure what you read is the truth anymore? Seems like a lot of story's that get plastered on FB need some research done on them before they are to be taken as fact.
 Now I am not pointing fingers at anyone nor am I trying to piss anyone off. One of my old friends posted His words on how he felt about the going on since the shootings this last week and he gave me something to think about. I Will say He is right! It is not just what he was saying that got this rant started. It is the way Face Book and all of the net working pages seem to get turned in to a bunch of propaganda Bs at times. Times when we should all be pulling together. Our nation's Biggest threat may very well be us fighting amongst ourselves instead of just holding true to each other. When we focus on what we want or are in fear of lousing what we have we often miss out on whats going on right under our noses. How about being Grateful as well as Thankful you have what you do have. In the last 16 days I have found that I am thankful! Thankful for my Kids, family, friends even the the air I breath.It still hurts to laugh or breath deeply but when I do I am grateful that I still can! It was a good day to live!

My friend Dan wrote;
It is a shame in the truest sense of the word that events like the one in Connecticut and the 'fiscal cliff' serve to further polarize this nation instead of bringing us together. I'd genuinely hoped all the horses would learn to pull together for the common good, that people would at long last understand that we are a nation in crisis and that if we do not learn how to compromise it will be our undoing. But everybody's more worried about their own agenda and the sniping at each other gets ever more vicious. If that energy and time was spent from both 'sides' to find compromise instead we'd be a lot better off as a whole. But Americans, especially those in power/wannabe in power, have lost any sense of all being in this together. Where is the middle-ground voice? Do we need to become further divided by secession or civil war for people to understand that they had the means for success in their grasp but were too worried about their own individual interests to just stick their oar in the water and help ROW the sonuvabitch?
If you answer this post with political attacks you will only further illustrate the issue.
